"Life threw me a "slice" and I became disabled. I soon felt discouraged and distanced from other people. Fortunately, I got "hooked" up with Return to Golf. Through the efforts of this group of caring people, my outlook on life has improved." - Mike Bouman, Participant
In 2002, NOGA Charities & Foundation began Return To Golf with the mission of helping physically disabled adults and children restore independence and improved their overall enjoyment of life using the game of golf as recreational therapy.
Return To Golf is offered free of charge to local individuals representing a broad range of physical disabilities, including stroke survivors, amputees and traumatic brain injuries. The program helps participants improve balance, coordination, muscle strength and, most importantly, self-esteem under the supervision of PGA professionals and fitness oriented physical therapists.
The Wharton Golf Center at the North Olmsted Golf Club is the home of Return To Golf, incorporating all program facilities into one unique location. The indoor driving range and fitness center allow the program to operate year round.
